New yacht healthcare service partnership between Estela Shipping and Clipper Ventures

ClipperTelemed+

Clipper Ventures and Estela Shipping are delighted to introduce a new service that will revolutionize healthcare on board yachts.

Estela Shipping Superyacht Agency is thrilled to announce a new agreement with ClipperTelemed+, the leading global provider of remote and on board medical services.

ClipperTelemed+ offers 24/7 global emergency and remote general medical support for crews of merchant ships and yachts from fully qualified emergency physicians within five minutes, wherever the casualty is located, in most languages.

As a result of the synergy between the two companies, ClipperTelemed+ and the WSC -When Seconds Count project (by Estela Superyacht Agency) the partnership will offer telemedicine and medical assistance, medical training and other on board health services.

Francesco Gennai, Director of the When Seconds Count project said: “Crew and passengers´ safety are of paramount importance on board a yacht. With the right medical training and advice leading to the ability to carry out first aid in a remote environment can minimise a casualty’s injuries, help aid their recovery and even ensure their survival.”

Tom Bettle, Business Development Manager of ClipperTelemed+, said: “ClipperTelemed+ provides remote primary and emergency medical care to seafarers the world over. Our unique approach not only enhances crew wellbeing, but in doing so brings crew reassurance and confidence along with remarkable economic benefits to the ship operator.”

According to Bettle, the very finest level of remote medical care has been available to the Navy, Coastguard and commercial seafarers through ClipperTelemed+’s Canadian partner, PRAXES Medical Group, for nearly twenty years. “When we saw the difference that this service could offer our own racing crews in the Clipper Round the World Yacht Race we chose to join forces and create ClipperTelemed+ to bring this remarkable service to the rest of the maritime world,” said Bettle. “We are taking Estela Superyacht Agency’s superb medical and crisis management, When Seconds Count, training course, and marrying it up alongside our uniquely focused remote medical care service to truly enable a full superyacht crew to be prepared for any medical incident or eventuality at work or at play.”

ClipperTelemed+ is also the official sponsor for the namesake yacht which is currently racing across the Pacific Ocean in the Clipper Round the World Yacht Race.
