Estela’s third Superyachts Poker Tournament at Palma Casino was another fun night of Texas Hold ‘Em, with some 40 entrants playing hard until late into the night, for some €2000 in prize money. The winner walked off with over €1000, while another beneficiary was the humanitarian charity, Yacht Aid Global. 15% of the total prize fund was again donated to this highly effective organisation, though the proceeds were on this occasion re-directed to the local cause of Mallorcan skipper Xisco Prieto, hospitalised in an unprovoked attack in San Remo. Xisco’s family are raising funds for a medical flight home, as his insurance won’t cover the cost of his repatriation. Our thanks go to Capt Tim Forderer of Yacht Aid Global, who promptly offered to donate all charitable proceeds towards Xisco’s repatriation. If you would like to help Xisco’s family bring him home, you can donate via this link. As we go to press, the total raised is still €2,000 short of their €25,000 goal, so any donation will be hugely appreciated. If you would like to help Yacht Aid Global and support its humanitarian initiatives around the globe, you can do so via this link. Thanks also go to our sponsors for […]

Mallorca’s pioneering superyacht agency is thriving and growing, as Palma becomes an ever larger hub for yachts based in, or visiting, the western Mediterranean. In response to ever-increasing demand, Estela Superyacht Agency is now pleased to announce the opening of its new office in STP, Palma’s state-of-the-art service, refit and repair facility. We have noticed over the past month when the season is coming to a close or yachts are preparing to leave for the Caribbean many non EU crew members are not realising that they have not correctly signed on or off their Yacht. What does this mean? When you fly into a EU country on arrival you must go with a cosignatory to Immigration and have your passport stamped so you can embark on the yacht, this stops your 90 days being consumed. If you do not do this and you consume your days, you could be classified as an illegal and when you go to the airport to fly home you can have up to a 5 year ban for entering any EU country. If you want us to come on board and make sure that you have everything order contact us at Palma@estelashipping.net or +34 971 722 532 and of course no charge for the visit. More info at pag. 28 of “The Y” The Yachting Handbook
Do you have cash on board, including that of crew and guest that exceeds 10.000€? As of this year all yachts that are coming from outside Spanish waters, on entry must declare all cash on board including that of crew and guests if it exceeds 10.000 euros. It is a simple process you would just need to send the exact amount that is on board and we can process the paperwork before you arrive. This also comes into effect if you are planning on leaving Spanish waters and have more than 10.000€ on board you will have to declare this as well. Next port a non-EU? Is necessary to obtain a Departure Clearence from the authorities. Next port EU? Departure Notice will have to be presented to the authorities. For advice on any of the above matters, please contact us on +34 971 722 532 or via email: email@example.com
